An antique 19th-century Russian Orthodox icon of Kazan Mother of God. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. Silver riza or oklad framing with floral repousse decor. Hallmark of 84 silver standard and makers marks are on the rim. Total Weight: 650 grams. Mother of God of Kazan icon is known as the Holy Protectress of Russia.
