Provenance: George Krevsky Gallery, San Francisco. An original paper label of the gallery is on the backside. The painter Anthony Dubovsky was born in San Diego, California, in 1945. He studied with Willard Midgette at Reed College, and has lived in Eastern Europe, Amsterdam, Buenos Aires, and Jerusalem. Born to Russian immigrant parents, Anthony Dobovsky grew up in San Diego, and at age 16 left home to study in Buenos Aires and in Europe including Russia. Much of his painting has exile themes including a series done on cardboard. He is known for Expressionist portraits, landscapes, genre scenes. One of a kind artwork.
