He studied with Willard Midgette at Reed College, and has lived in Eastern Europe, Amsterdam, Buenos Aires, and Jerusalem. Born to Russian immigrant parents, Anthony Dobovsky grew up in San Diego, and at age 16 left home to study in Buenos Aires and in Europe including Russia. Much of his painting has exile themes including a series done on cardboard. He is known for Expressionist portraits, landscapes, genre scenes. One of a kind artwork.
