Lot 0579: POLISH CAVALRY WZ 1917 MODEL BOROWSKI SABRE SWORD

A Polish 1917 model cavalry sabre sword. The sabre is adorned with a handle shaft wooden, covered with black leather, visible slanting grooves filled with brass twisted wire, so called cutlass. Handle closed, brass binding, basket shaped featuring an engraved image of an eagle. An etched foliage ornament, and a motto, God Honour Fatherland, on the blade. Marked with the Gabriel Borowskis Factory of Sequential Arms, G. Borowski in Warsaw, on a ricasso. On the inner butt the piston of the Main Office of Supply of the Army Guza 1917.
