Mark Alexandrovich Aldanov 1886 to 1957, was a Russian writer and historian. He studied law at the University of St. Petersburg, but his writing career began in Paris, where he emigrated after the Russian Revolution. Aldanovs works often explored political and social issues, and he became known for his historical novels and essays. He was a prominent anti Bolshevik emigre and a vocal critic of the Soviet regime.
