Shimon Okshteyn, Ukrainian, American, 1951 to 2020, serigraph on paper, Smoking Lady. Hand signed lower right. Numbered in pencil, 105 of 150, lower left. Framed. Shimon Okshteyn was an American artist, sculptor and print maker. In 1970 he graduated from the Odessa Art School named after M. B. Grekov. In 1979 he came to New York. Public recognition came with the series of works Cover Girls, created by the artist in 1984. Oksteins artworks are in the collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Brooklyn Museum in New York, as well as many private and museum collections.
