Simon Avissar, Israeli, Moroccan, born 1938, mixed media painting on canvas depicting an Expressionist portrait with a mask. Signed lower right. Framed. Additionally inscribed, The Mask Sepia, on the backside. Simon Avissar, the painter, was born in Morocco in 1948. Simon moved to U.S.A. He worked for 14 years in Paris. Education: 1959 to 1960 Paris, arts appliques; 1959 to 1961 Beaux Arts, Paris; 1962 to 1963 Bezalel, Jerusalem. His works range from pure abstract expressionist painting to figurative expressionism to an almost Surrealist calligraphic abstraction. One of a kind artwork.
