An antique 19th century Russian miniature icon depicting an Orthodox saint, most likely Nicholas the Wonderworker, in a silver and cloisonne enamel riza or oklad. Of rectangular form, the oklad is decorated with vari-coloured stylized flowerheads, the central part with filigree ground, marked on the top edge with an illegible makers mark and an 84 Russian Imperial silver standard.
