An antique Korean Choson or Joseon dynasty embroidered silk rank badge for civil officials. Circa the late 19th century. The items are roughly square and created for a civilian official of first to third rank. Each features two white cranes grasping a red bag in beak. In Korea, various animals were used to designate rank, and the motifs evolved throughout the Joseon dynasty.
