Mikhail Vladimirovich Grulev, 1857 to 1943, military leader, lieutenant general, military writer, and journalist, a participant in the Russian Japanese War. In his memoirs, he gives a broad panorama of life in Russia at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
