A pair of vintage Russian softcover books. First. Distant, Close by Andrey Sedykh. Second edition, published in New York, 1979. With autograph dated 1991. Second. Six Stories of Easy Ends by Ilya Ehrenburg. Published by Gelikon in Berlin, 1922. With illustrations by El Lissitzky. Andrey Sedykh, real name Yakov Tsvibak, 1902 to 1994, was a Russian emigre writer and personal secretary of Ivan Bunin. Ilya Ehrenburg, 1891 to 1967, was a Soviet writer and journalist of Jewish descent. His most famous works are devoted to military conflicts: the First World War, the Spanish Civil War, and the Second World War.
