An Ancient Native American corrugated ceramic bowl. Tonto Basin, Salado culture, ca. 1350 to 1600 CE. The Salado peoples resided the in modern Southeastern Arizona. While Salado polychrome pottery was among the most widely traded in the ancient southwest, this example features a monochromatic, corrugated surface, volumetric form and fingernail impressed designs. The piece has been restored. Provenance: ex-Hagen Collection, acquired in the 1940s, found on private land. The item comes with a certificate of authenticity.
