A pair of symmetrical antique Japanese, late Meiji era, enamel over brass vases. The exteriors of the urn shaped vases are covered with polychrome designs depicting a Phoenix bird surrounded by floral, and foliage motifs made in the Cloisonne technique. The vases are decorated with polychrome floral medallions surrounded by floral and foliage ornaments on the olive green ground, on the sides. The necks and the bases are decorated with floral and foliage patterns made in the same technique. The ground is inlaid with Goldstone. Unmarked. Circa: late 19th century to early 20th century.
