Attributed to Yayoi Kusama, Japanese, American, born 1929, mixed media painting on paper from the series, My Eternal Soul, for the solo exhibition, I Want Your Tears to Flow with the Words I Wrote, 2021. Signed, and stamped, lower right. Framed. Additionally stamped on the backside. In the late 2000s, Kusama began her ongoing My Eternal Soul paintings, which feature the signature allover qualities of her Infinity Nets and echo the obsessive, recurring geometries of her decades long output. Conveying the extraordinary vitality that characterizes Kusamas oeuvre, each composition is an innovative exploration of form, subject matter, and space, in which abstract and figurative elements combine to offer impressions of both microscopic and macroscopic universes. Yayoi Kusama is a Japanese contemporary artist who works primarily in sculpture and installation, but is also active in painting, performance, video art, fashion, poetry, fiction, and other arts. Her work is based in conceptual art and shows some attributes of feminism, minimalism, surrealism, Art Brut, pop art, and abstract expressionism, and is infused with autobiographical, psychological, and sexual content. She has been acknowledged as one of the most important living artists to come out of Japan. One of a kind artwork.
