Copper etching on paper, after John Flaxman, 1755 to 1826, an English sculptor and draughtsman, the leading figure in European Neoclassicism. The artwork depicts angels ascending a nude woman to heaven. Presumably from the 1807 series of illustrations for the Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri. Titled Que Votre Regne Arrive, May Your Reign Come in the bottom middle. Marked John Flaxman inv. in the lower left, 1008 in the lower right. Dated 1832. Cardboard mat.
