An Ancient Roman beaded necklace. Imperial Rome era, ca. 1st to 2nd century AD. The piece is composed of tubular red carnelian beads, rock crystal charms graduated in size, 23K gold fitting beads and clasp. The Romans valued rock crystal for its power to channel positive energy.
