An antique Russian Orthodox hand-painted icon featuring Saint Paraskevi of Iconium, also known as Paraskeva Pyatnitsa, a Christian virgin martyr. The icon depicts her adorned in the red of martyrdom, holding an eastern cross in her right hand and a scroll professing her faith in the other. Crafted with tempera and gold on a wooden panel. Dates back to the early 20th century. According to Christian tradition, Saint Paraskevi was born into a Christian family in Iconium.
