Mihail Chemiakin, Russian Soviet, born 1943, a limited edition color lithograph on paper, a metaphysical Portrait of Vaslav Nijinsky, ca. 1978. Hand signed in pencil lower right. Inscribed, EA for Artist proof, and numbered 19 of 25 in pencil, lower left. Framed. The lithograph repeats the graphic work of 1975 from the series Metaphysical Busts, Buste Metaphysique. The composition was published in the catalog Mihail Chemiakin. St. Petersbourg. 1976. Galerie Altmann Carpentier, Paris. Portrait de Nijinsky, page 33. Mihail Mikhailovich Chemiakin or Shemyakin is a Russian painter, stage designer, sculptor, and publisher, and a controversial representative of the nonconformist art tradition of St. Petersburg.
