A very large antique Japanese scroll depicting the plot Extermination of Evil with benevolent Deities such as Tenkeisei, Sendan Kendatsuba, Shinchu, Shoki, Bishamon-ten expelling demons of plague. Presumably such paintings of deities exterminating evilness were used at the Butsumyo-e ritual in the court. Early Showa period, 1926 to 1989. Printed on April 20, 1929. Comes in a wooden box.
