A large antique Japanese, Meiji era, enamel over copper vase. The vase has a globular shaped body and a long narrow neck. The ware is enameled with polychrome medallions depicting a bird and butterflies in blossoming flowers surrounded by a scaly ornament made in the Cloisonne technique. The neck is adorned with floral, foliage, scaly, and geometrical ornaments made in the same technique. The base features geometrical and foliage motifs made in the Cloisonne technique. Unmarked.
