A large rare antique Japanese enamel over copper vase. The exterior of the vase is adorned with hand enameled panels depicting a tiger in bamboo trees, a Phoenix bird, a dragon, cranes and birds on a pond, and a bird seated on a branch surrounded by swirl and foliate scroll ornaments made in the Cloisonne technique. The central part of the vase is adorned with polychrome enamel images of dragons and a bat motif made in the same technique. The neck of the ware is decorated with floral, foliage and geometrical patterns made in the same technique. Unmarked. Circa: early 20th century.
