A WWII German reich Social Welfare cross medal, third class. This cross is one of the rarer German WWII civil badges. The award is a gold tone cross covered with white enamel, featuring a superimposed emblem of a Reichsadler eagle holding a swastika, covered with black enamel. Illegibly marked to the backside. The award was introduced to recognize German citizens for meritorious services in welfare, such as the Winterhilfswerk winter charities. There were four classes of this award.
