A WWII Nazi German Order of Merit of the German Eagle for military recipients, 1st class. Based on the white enameled Maltese Cross, this order features German eagles at each corner carrying a swastika, emblematic of the Nazi regime. Additionally, crossed swords are included, symbolizing military valor and service. Established by Adolf Hitler in 1937, the Order of Merit of the German Eagle was primarily awarded to foreigners and German citizens for exceptional achievements in service to the Reich.
