David Zagoskin, Russian, Soviet era, 1900 to 1942, mixed media painting on paper depicting a Suprematist abstract composition. Signed lower right. David Efimovich Zagoskin was a talented painter, graphic artist, master of drawing, teacher, one of the organizers and participants of the Leningrad society, Circle of Artists. The artist devoted a lot of time to studying the art of the old masters, and in his work returned to the traditions of realistic art. Zagoskin was still concerned with the issues of form building in painting, and the possibility of conveying various gradations of color. One of a kind artwork.
