An oil painting on canvas board by Simka Simkhovitch titled Still Life with Blue Flowers, 1936. The painting depicts a bouquet of flowers resembling large blue daisies in a rectangular vase of light blue color on a red background. Signed and dated 1936 lower left. In a gilt wooden frame. Simka Faibusovich Simkhovitch, 1885 to 1949, Russian and American artist of Jewish origin. Painter, graphic artist, teacher. He emigrated from the USSR in 1924 to New York. Held personal exhibitions in New York, 1927, 1929, 1931, 1940. Participated in exhibitions at the Metropolitan Museum, Carnegie Museum, and the Art Institute of Chicago. His works are in the permanent collections of the Dallas Museum of Art, the National Museum of American Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art. One of a kind artwork.
