A pair of Russian color pencil paintings on paper by Vladimir Yakovlev. Both portraits depict the same person, but in different ways. In the first picture it is depicted as conventionally as possible, schematically. The second image is more detailed and carefully shaded. Matted and framed. Provenance: Collection of Vagrich Bakhchanyan, 1938 to 2009. Each drawing is signed in pencil on the backside. It says These drawings were purchased by me from the artist in 1965 in Moscow. V. Bakhchanyan. Vladimir Igorevich Yakovlev, 1934 to 1998, Russian artist, representative of unofficial art.
