An antique German painting on porcelain plaque by KPM depicting a scene with Jesus after the original oil painting on canvas, Christ In The Temple, 1884 by Heinrich Ferdinand Hofmann, German, 1824 to 1911. Marked with an impressed KPM factory mark, on the backside. Circa: early 20th century. Framed. The plot for the painting was an episode from the Gospel of Luke, which tells how the parents of Jesus came to Jerusalem for the Passover holiday. The Konigliche Porzellan Manufaktur Berlin, or KPM, was one of the most influential porcelain factories in 18th century Germany, and it still operates today.
