An antique Russian Orthodox hand painted icon of Theotokos, Mother Of God Vladimirskaya, the earliest known surviving and one of the most revered miraculous icons of the Russian Orthodox Church. A mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on wood panel. Inscribed upper right and left. The icon features an embossed 84 gilt Silver riza or oklad, engraved traditional detailed patterns. Inscribed lower to the center. Marked with a Silver standard hallmark, and a makers mark.
