Frans Swagers, Dutch, French, 1756 to 1836, an antique oil painting on board, A river landscape with herdsmen and their livestock, depicting a pastoral scene in a landscape. Signed lower right. Framed. Additionally inscribed, on the backside. Frans Swagers, born in Utrecht, was a painter of pastoral and coastal scenes, normally including figures and animals. He painted in the Dutch romantic manner. His works seem to be divided between those executed in the Netherlands and his latter works painted in France. A collection of his paintings is in the Bowes Museum, County Durham, England. One of a kind artwork.
