A Mid 20th century Hungarian hand made and hand painted porcelain figurine by Herend Hungary. The figurine depicts a parrot seated on a branch. The ware is hand painted with tropical green, orange, and red tones. Mounted on a figural stand. Circa: 1950s to 1960s Marked with a blue ink factory stamp, an impressed stamp, and numbered, 5002, on the bottom. Herend is known for its long history of producing the finest hand painted porcelain worldwide. Herends trademark fishnet pattern design, which is most popular in the U.S., originated in 1858 when an artist intrigued with a Chinese plates fish scale design painted it onto a rooster figurines breast to imitate feathers.
