A Russian lacquered papier mache Easter egg casket. The exterior of the ware is adorned with hand painted scenes from a Russian fairy tale surrounded by Pan Slavic floral and foliage motifs. A red interior. Marked, Fedoskino. Signed by the artist. Fedoskino miniature is a folk craft, a type of Russian lacquer miniature painting with oil paints on papier mache, which developed at the end of the 18th century in the village of Fedoskino near Moscow.
