Lot 0199: LARGE RUSSIAN GILT SILVER RUBY EGG CASKET WITH STAND

A large Russian gilt silver egg casket. The piece is decorated with embossed Imperial eagles and Neoclassical motifs, such as laurel wreaths and acanthus leaves. The casket is also richly garnished with ruby cabochons of various size. An Imperial eagle finial tops the lid. Hallmark of 84 silver standard and makers mark are on the rims and inside of both parts. The casket comes with a gilt silver footed stand. Total Weight: 602 grams.
