Jules Cheret, French, 1836 to 1932, a lithographic poster depicting an oval portrait of a lady and a couple of Harlequins, for a unique establishment that offers every imaginable diversion: skating, theater, cocktails, and music. Titled, Skating De La Rue Blanche, upper to the center. Inscribed in the plate, Imp. J. Cheret and Cie, Paris, lower right, lower right. Framed. Jules Cheret was a French painter and lithographer who became a master of Belle Epoque poster art. He has been called the father of the modern poster.
