Ross Embrose Moffett, American, 1888 to 1971, oil on canvas seascape painting depicting an old man and a dog in the boat. Framed. Inscribed to the back. Ross Embrose Moffett was an artist specializing in landscape painting, social realism themed murals and etching. He was a significant figure in the development of American Modernism after World War I. He worked with the Works Progress Administration to complete four murals in the 1930s.
