Elizabeth Chater, American, 20th century, oil on canvas painting depicting three faces. Signed. Between the wars in the 1920s, Libby Chater traveled to Paris twice to study painting and portraiture. She was influenced by Will Barnet, Matisse, Klee and Picasso. Off and on during the 50s and the 60s she studied with Will Barnet at the Art Students League in New York City.
