For your consideration a large ceramic plate with a flared rim and shallow basin from the Annam Kingdom under China Ming Empire influence. Dated circa early 15th century CE and manufactured for south China markets. A genuine shipwreck piece with substantial patina and rich sea encrustations. The plate is a great example of common houseware created in Vietnam around the Le Loi nationalist movement and his later Later Le Dynasty and kingship under the name of Le Thai To. The early ceramic from Annam, today Vietnam, counts among the best of its kind all over South Eastern Asia. Provenance: Private Lumberton, Texas, USA Collection, acquired before 2010.
