For your consideration, ancient Imperial China, Song Dynasty, ca 960 to 1278 CE, hand built pottery porcelain bowl with tall walls and squat feet. Great piece, most probably a shipwreck recovered item hence the pale matte finish and fading tones after long exposure to salinity; but at same time, well kept on the deeps. The bowl has a nice shape, faded white ground upon which a register of meandering lines and an abstract zoomorphic figure decorate the basin interior. A very small chip on the upper rim.
