Lot 0354: MID CENT SOUTH AMERICAN DIAGUITA STYLE CERAMIC BOWL

41 reviews

A Mid Century South American Diaguita style tribal pottery bowl polychrome burnished with traditional bright dark red and black geometric designs. Hand signed to the bottom: Chile Ivan. In the pre-Columbian world, Diaguita ceramics are striking for their singular combination of white, black and red geometric and figurative designs. Their origins can be traced back to around AD 700, in the Las Animas cultural complex, whose final phase is contemporary with the initial Diaguita phase. Hand Crafted Tableware Ceramic Pieces, Mesoamerican Art, Home Decor, Interior Design, and Collectibles.
