Anton Schrodl, Austrian, 1820 to 1906, an antique oil painting on board depicting a townscape. Signed with initials, lower left. Framed. A paper label of a Saalfelden auction, on the backside. Anton Schrodl was an Austrian painter of animals and genre scenes. In 1833 to 1835 he studied at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts. His teacher was the artist Sebastian Wegmeyer. For some time Schrodl worked in Vienna as a lithographer. Later he worked as an animal artist. He especially often depicted sheep. One of a kind artwork.
