A lot of two antique Grand Tour reproductions, Mesopotamian cuneiform tablets. Items are convex rectangular in shape with text on both sides. Cuneiform is one of the earliest forms of writing. They wrote on soft clay with a wooden stick or sharpened reed, scratching wedge shaped words. Such objects were a popular souvenir production during the Grand Tour era, the 17th to early 19th century custom of a traditional trip through Europe, with Italy as a key destination, by upper class young European men.
