A pair of antique Grand Tour era silver reproductions Greek Coins. First. An Athenean tetradrachm, Greece, Hellenistic period, ca. 4th century BC. Profile of Alexander the Great on the obverse, god Zeus on the reverse. Second. A tetradrachm from Smyrna, Ionia, ca. 2nd century BC. Turreted head of the Amazon of Smyrna as Tyche on the obverse, monogram of magistrate Ariston in oak wreath on the reverse. Total Weight: 33 grams. Grand Tour was the 17th to early 19th-century custom of a traditional trip through Europe, with Italy as a key destination, undertaken by upper-class young European men.
