An antique Russian Orthodox icon of Saint John Chrysostom. Нand painted in egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. The icon is enclosed in a silver riza or oklad with repousse decor with engraved details. Inscribed, Ioann Zlatoust in Church Slavonic on the bottom. Hallmarked with an 800 silver standard on the side of the riza. The backside of the icon is covered with orange velvet. Russian Silver, Antique Religious Art Items and Collectibles.
