A mid-20th century Spanish military helmet. After 1945. A steel helmet intended to provide protection against shrapnel and fragments of grenades. Distinctive coal scuttle shape, matte khaki color. Leather and fabric straps are attached on the inner side. During WWII the Spanish purchased a small amount of German Stahlhelm helmets, which became the basis for the Spanish version of the helmet.
