An antique Chinese, late Qing Dynasty, watercolor painting on paper cut out depicting an ancestor, a portrait of the Emperor seated on a throne and dressed in a Royal robe and an elaborate headdress. The robe is adorned with Calligraphy surrounded by a wavy ornament. Unsigned. Circa: late 19th century to early 20th century. These paintings traditionally come from Shanxi province which was home to many of the wealthy merchant families associated with the imperial court during the Qing dynasty.
