An antique 19th century Peruvian huamanga alabaster fetish illa rams figurine. The figurine represents four alternating animals, sheep and rams with curled horns on a stable rectangular stand. Illa has been carried in a traditional sacred coca bag together with some coca leaves. Illa were, and still are, carried to protect the herds of animals that they represent from harm, and to bring fertility to the animals and prosperity to the herders.
