A highly collectible extra large Russian 88 silver and enamel Easter egg box separated into two halves. Features a gold washed interior. The exterior of the egg is skillfully enameled with blue, white, red, cobalt blue, pink, turquoise and green scrollwork and floral patterns made using the cloisonne technique. The exterior is adorned with relief double headed Imperial eagles, geometrical patterns, and enameled medallions hand painted with miniature landscape scenes. The egg is encrusted with semi precious stones. Completed with a figural stand with legs modeled as animal hooves.
