An antique Japanese brass vase from the early Meiji period, decorated with enamel using the cloisonne technique. The vase is of a globular form tapering to the bottom, the exterior is decorated with cloisonne enamel flowers and goldstone enamel accents on a black ground, medallions on both sides are hand painted with traditional Japanese landscape scenes, one side depicts a winter landscape, and the other side shows a mountainous landscape.
