An ancient Egyptian carved turquoise Heart Scarab, from the Grand Tour period and adorned with hieroglyphics on the underside, holding immense historical and religious significance. Heart Scarabs were symbolic in ancient Egyptian funerary practices, believed to guide and protect the deceased in the afterlife. These scarabs, often inscribed with prayers or spells from the Book of the Dead, were placed on the mummified bodys chest as part of the burial ritual.
