An ancient carved Olmec head from Pre Columbian America made of dark green stone. This is a male face with a calm, benevolent expression, featuring narrow eyes and a smile that makes you feel like it is laughing. It has drilled holes on the reverse side, the head was probably intended for hanging on a vertical surface. Comes with a black heavy stand. The Olmecs flourished during Mesoamericas formative period, dating roughly from as early as 1500 BCE to about 400 BCE. They were the first Mesoamerican civilization, and laid many of the foundations for the civilizations that followed. South American Collectibles, Home Decor.
