A WWI type Star of the Grand Cross of the Iron Cross 1914 is the highest military award of the Kingdom of Prussia and the German Empire. The Grand Cross star was intended for the most outstanding generals who performed an unprecedented feat of heroism for the glory of the German state. This award has only been given twice.
