A vintage hand carved Jasper stone sculpture, Eagle on Alert, by W.K. Ngai. The sculpture depicts an eagle sitting on a boulder, eyeing on its prey. This highly graphic variety of jasper, known as Natures Paintbrush. Mounted on a black Onyx base. Unmarked. Circa: the second half of the 20th century. W.K. Ngai founded a gemstone cutting workshop in Hong Kong in 1964. Starting at first with cabochons, he gradually learned the techniques and secrets of the masters for cutting gemstones.
